Forgiveness and Prayer

My eyes filled with tears as I read today's article in the Chicago Tribune by John Kass. He is not Roman Catholic, yet he writes such a beautiful testimonial to the power of forgiveness and prayer as demonstrated by JPII.

Check it out at www.chicagotribune.com and click on John Kass' article.

Truly makes one think during our Lenten time of reflection....

Prayers for the Holy Father

I was up in the wee hours this AM again, and saw on national cable news that the Pope has been taken back to the hospital with a relapse of the flu. I hope and pray he feels better soon. It must be pretty awful to have trouble breathing, like they report he is.

Reconciled again...

I went to Confession yesterday. It had been a long, long time. So long I had to bring a list in with me. Why do I let it go so long?! I found this wonderful Examination of Conscience over at Fathers Know Best. Confession is going on my calendar for the first Saturday of the month--my belated New Year's resolution.

It's been a long, long time.....

since any of us have blogged here! I know I've been super busy, then the ISP was down, and then we've been sick. So, we've been away from the blog...

Prayers are going up for the Holy Father; he seems very ill. As anyone with experience around chronically ill senior adults will know, a respiratory illness can become serious quite quickly. Prayers for a speedy recovery, or a gentle passing to heaven are coming from our house, and from many folks, I'm sure.

I had the chance to meet a fellow Catholic blogger the other night, it was so.. surreal to talk IRL with someone that you've known only until then through a blog! But, it was fun, and I'm sure if we had more time, we'd have run through our list of favorite blogs and compared!

Speaking of blogs, the 2005 Catholic Blog Award nominations are open HERE. Go nominate your favorite Catholic blog for an award!
